The Big Move...
I haven’t had the time to really sit down and talk about my move from New York, but I feel like it’s an important story… it’s MY story and it has really shaped me into who I am today. So enjoy… and like always thank you for taking the time to support and learn more about me!
Moving from New York to California was one of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make this far in my life. I lived in New York for 21 years of my life and booked a one way flight a month after graduating college. Yes, the decision was easier knowing that I would be living with my sister and having my boyfriend (Way) a short flight away. But, leaving my parents, 4 other siblings, two nephews and the rest of my family and friends would be the hardest. I was young and nervous, but excited to be in a new city and find my way, the way I wanted too.
Luckily I got a job only one week into moving to California and met some forever friends there, which also made moving a lot easier as well! I learned that when you’re away from home you have to find people in your life that are like family, because you won’t always have your family near you. I also realized very quickly that being in the same state wasn’t enough for me when it came to my relationship. Four years doing long distance was enough and about a year into living in LA, Way and I moved to Orange County, and now live in Huntington Beach.
Moving out of LA was one of the best decisions I made, I’m much happier and I’m now able to do what I love and live in a beautiful city only a mile from the beach and still be able to get to LA and San Diego very easily/when I want too, now that I have 2 siblings in LA and a best friend in SD.
Now my work life has shifted and so has my personal life. I am now doing freelance social media and creative work for some companies and making sure to spend my free time with Way + finding time to see Mayte and her family in San Diego and my brother and sister in LA.
Life is really teaching me about time management and not with work, but making sure to make time for the people who I care about in my personal life. It’s never going to be easy, but that is how you keep amazing people in your life, by investing time in your relationships with them, and by no means is it easy. I am still learning and growing as an individual in my career, but I feel blessed everyday that Way and I are happy and that I have amazing friends and family!
Hope you got a little glimpse of me and my life since I’ve moved from New York. Hope these pictures could really tell the story too! Although my journey continues and I can’t wait to keep sharing.
Rock on babes, and thank you again for your support! 💋
