Fairmont Mayakoba

Just a quick three to four hour flight from either the east or west coasts and you will find yourself in one of the best tropical destinations in the Caribbean – Mayakoba. We recently partnered with Fairmont for a quick visit to one of their most luxurious properties, which is just 45 minutes south of Cancun.

The resort itself is a lush, tropical oasis located just outside the typical hustle and bustle of a more crowded Cancun. It’s nestled against the lagoon in the mangrove trees and seemingly has a full forest of palm trees everywhere you turn. The way that the resort is situated makes it feel like it grew out of the tropical forest it calls home. On the beach you will find panoramic views of the incredibly blue sea set against the whitest, softest sand. We were fortunate enough to wake up to this view for four days in early April and we are already thinking of when we should plan our next trip. 

Our days were filled with sunshine, margaritas, and lots and lots of food. The restaurants on property serve some of the best traditional Mexican food we’ve ever had and believe it or not SUSHI as well. The resorts boasts plenty of activities for travelers such as paddle boarding, tennis and beach volleyball.

During our trip we were celebrating my 30th birthday and the entire staff went out of their way to make the celebration incredibly special. They were kind enough to host us for a private tequila tasting and dinner, which was spectacular. It was the perfect setting to ring in a new decade!

In our opinion, Fairmont Mayakoba is not just another resort. It is a tropical oasis that incorporates luxury accommodations, attentive staff, and nature’s beauty.
